The State Monitoring Cell (SMC) of Gujarat Police conducted a prohibition raid in Lavarpur village, Gandhinagar district, seizing Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), vehicles, mobile phones, and cash valued at Rs 25.26 lakh. The raid, carried out under the Gujarat Prohibition Act, resulted in the recovery of 3,127 bottles of IMFL worth Rs 14,19,265. Additionally, two vehicles, two mobile phones, and cash totaling Rs 46,950 were confiscated.
Two individuals, Rajan Patel and Ajit Thakor, were arrested in connection with the raid and handed over to Dabhoda Police Station. Meanwhile, four other accused, including Manoj Thakor, Kailash Adivasi, Jivab Bangu, and Mukesh Devasi, are currently absconding. Efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend them, as per investigators.
In a separate incident, the State Monitoring Cell seized over Rs 63 lakh worth of IMFL and arrested a truck driver during a prohibition raid in Surendranagar district. The enforcement operations against prohibited liquor activities in the region continue, with recent seizures of illegal liquor in Gandhinagar district and ongoing efforts to apprehend multiple wanted individuals.
