A protest erupted in Patna as job seekers demanded the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) to announce the date for the Teachers Recruitment Examination-4 (TRE) 4.0. The demonstrators insisted on the immediate release of the advertisement.
Tension escalated near JP Golambar when police used force to disperse the crowd that was trying to breach barricades. Numerous students were reportedly injured during the clash. Videos from the protest depicted police chasing protesters on nearby streets, with some aspirants claiming injuries.
Around 5,000 candidates marched from Patna College to the BPSC office seeking clarity on the TRE-4 notification release. Accusations were made against the commission for causing confusion and delaying the recruitment process.
Student leader Dilip Kumar accused the commission of misleading over 1.3 million candidates preparing for the exam. As per the protesters, BPSC had initially hinted at releasing the TRE-4 advertisement on April 19, with the application process starting by April 25-26. However, as of May 8, the official notification was still pending.
Agitated candidates gathered in Patna, blocking roads and demanding swift action to address the delay in the TRE-4 recruitment process. This recruitment drive is anticipated to fill a significant number of teaching positions across various departments in Bihar.
