Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi revealed plans for a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) public rally at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi on Sunday. Afridi conveyed PTI founder Imran Khan’s message to Sindh, urging support for the party’s street movement. He emphasized the significance of the upcoming jalsa in Karachi, expecting it to be the largest gathering in the city’s history.
Afridi’s aide, Shafi Jan, mentioned that the CM will engage with Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah and PTI leadership during his three-day visit. The visit includes meetings at the Insaf House and the Press Club in Sindh. The rally at Mazar-e-Quaid on January 11 aims to boost the street movement, as reported by The News International.
PTI had sought permission for the Karachi public meeting, with PTI President Raja Azhar assuring authorities of a peaceful rally at Bagh-e-Jinnah. The party is part of the opposition alliance TTAP, mobilizing for the second anniversary of the 2024 polls. TTAP leaders Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas are in Lahore for political activities linked to the street movement.
