The investigation into the alleged murder of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal has seen a new emotional development. Siya Goyal’s maternal uncle and aunt, Narendra Mittal and Renu Mittal, expressed disbelief over the accusations against their niece. The Mittals, who played a significant role in uniting the families for Siya and Ketan’s marriage, provided statements to the police as part of the ongoing inquiry.
According to police sources, the Mittals conveyed their shock to investigators, stating their inability to fathom Siya’s involvement in the alleged plot to harm her fiancée. Narendra Mittal emphasized that both Siya and Ketan were kind-hearted individuals, and they never anticipated such actions from Siya, whom they had known since her childhood. The families had initiated marriage discussions in January 2026, facilitated by the Mittals, leading to Siya and Ketan’s engagement the following month and a planned wedding in November.
Mittal clarified to the police that his role was solely in bringing the families together and aiding the match, distancing himself from any wrongdoing. The case came to light after Ketan Agarwal’s fatal fall from a cliff at Lohagad Fort during a trek with Siya Goyal on June 18. Initially deemed accidental, suspicions arose following Ketan’s demise, prompting a detailed police investigation.
Allegations suggest that Siya Goyal, involved with Chetan Chaudhary, considered Ketan an obstacle to their relationship. During the trek, Siya reportedly signaled Chaudhary, who then pushed Ketan off a 400-foot cliff, leading to his death. Both Siya and Chaudhary face accusations of conspiring to commit murder. Police sources claim that Siya confessed during questioning that she found it “easier” to eliminate Ketan than to confront her family and call off the arranged marriage, citing family sentiments as a reason for not canceling the wedding.
During interrogation, Siya’s brother, Sahil Goyal, revealed that Siya met Chetan Chaudhary at one of his cricket matches, gradually developing a close bond. However, Siya’s parents denied any knowledge or acquaintance with Chaudhary, asserting that if their daughter is found guilty, she should face severe consequences.
