Pune teenagers Arjun Chheda and Sai Shiva Sankaran emerged victorious in the MRF Formula 2000 and Formula 1600 races at the Madras International Circuit. Arjun Chheda, aged 17, seized the lead from the pole-sitter to clinch the MRF F2000 races, with Sai Shiva Sankaran, also 17, securing the top spot in the MRF F1600 race.
In the MRF F1600 race, Sai Shiva Sankaran, starting from pole position, fended off competitors from Bengaluru to maintain his lead. Biren Pithawalla from Surat capitalized on a retirement by the championship leader to claim an easy win in the premier Indian Touring Cars class. The races featured a grid of 19 cars across various categories.
Surat’s Biren Pithawalla, the defending champion, overcame challenges to secure victory in the Indian Touring Cars class. Nikhanth Ramabalu excelled in the ITC 1625 class, while Rithwik Thomas from Bengaluru triumphed in the IJTC category. The day’s events also saw thrilling performances in the Super Stock class and MRF Saloons race.
The Formula LGB 1300 race concluded with Vinith Kumar emerging as the winner despite a minor setback in the final lap. The day’s races showcased intense competition and skillful driving across different categories at the Madras International Circuit.
