Punjab BJP President, Kewal Singh Dhillon, expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his continuous support to Punjab, highlighting the initiation of various developmental projects in the state. Dhillon thanked PM Modi for safeguarding farmers’ interests by excluding wheat and dairy products from a trade agreement with European countries. He emphasized the benefits of this agreement for Punjab’s economy, particularly for industries like hosiery, bicycles, sports goods, and agriculture.
Dhillon commended the Modi government for consistently raising the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for wheat and paddy farmers in Punjab, contrasting it with the limited increases during the Congress regime. He stressed the importance of farmers’ prosperity for the overall progress of Punjab and affirmed the BJP government’s commitment to their well-being.
Highlighting India’s economic growth under PM Modi’s leadership, Dhillon projected confidence in achieving the vision of making India a developed nation by 2047. He praised the increase in mobile manufacturing units in the country and envisioned a future Punjab government inspired by historical figures, aiming to address issues like drugs, gangsters, and unemployment while restoring the state’s glory.
Former state BJP President Sunil Jakhar criticized the AAP government for Punjab’s decline in development rankings and emphasized the need for PM Modi’s guidance to steer the state in the right direction. Other party leaders also voiced concerns over Punjab’s economic challenges, attributing them to the current administration and advocating for a BJP government in 2027 to address issues like drugs, unemployment, and gang-related activities.
