Punjab BJP President, Sunil Jakhar, expressed apprehensions about certain Congress MPs’ conduct, citing past behavior. He emphasized the importance of upholding the dignity of the Prime Minister’s office alongside ensuring the Prime Minister’s security. Jakhar highlighted worries about potential threats to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s office’s dignity in the Lok Sabha, cautioning that Punjab Congress leaders might compromise standards for personal political gains.
In a social media post, Jakhar pointed out that Congress MPs who jeopardized the Prime Minister’s security during a past visit in Ferozepur are now part of the Parliament, influencing party decisions. He warned that these individuals could resort to extreme measures to curry favor with the Congress high command. The State BJP President stressed that concerns about the behavior of certain Congress MPs in the Lok Sabha should not be dismissed lightly, given their history of actions that endangered security and disrupted proceedings.
Jakhar further stated that preventing the Prime Minister from responding to the Motion of Thanks is not merely an affront to an individual but a deliberate attack on the dignity of a constitutional office. He underscored that targeting institutions when arguments fail sets a concerning precedent.
