With pre-Special Intensive Revision (SIR) mapping at 84.62%, Punjab Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Anindita Mitra has shared lists of unmapped electors with political party representatives. These lists contain data as of May 27, and Mitra emphasized the importance of political parties’ involvement in completing the SIR exercise successfully. Efforts are underway to engage maximum electors before the House-to-House Enumeration Phase begins.
Mitra addressed concerns about unmapped voters, assuring that officials will verify voter details with necessary documents if needed. Special camps are scheduled on June 7 at all polling stations in Punjab to expedite pre-mapping, with Block Level Officers (BLOs) available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for voter mapping assistance. Party representatives were briefed on the voter mapping process through the Election Commission’s portal.
The Election Commission of India has adjusted the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Punjab. Draft electoral rolls will now be published on August 3, with the claims and objections period extended to September 2. Mitra confirmed that the schedule announced on May 14 remains unchanged, with notice phase and claim disposal set from August 3 to September 28.
