Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann unveiled a healthcare and infrastructure initiative in Hoshiarpur, inaugurating a Rs 268 crore medical college and a 300-bed hospital. He also announced the establishment of the Shaheed Udham Singh State Institute of Medical Sciences to be completed within two years. CM Mann emphasized the government’s commitment to providing top-notch healthcare services, including training 100 MBBS doctors annually and offering advanced medical facilities like MRI, CT scan, and specialized surgeries.
Strengthening healthcare accessibility, CM Mann laid the foundation stone for a Rs 9.18 crore Community Health Centre benefiting over 40 villages. Additionally, he introduced seven Health and Wellness Centres in the region to enhance last-mile healthcare delivery. The Chief Minister also kickstarted the Balachaur-Garhshankar-Hoshiarpur-Dasuya road project worth Rs 99 crore, a 105-km corridor aimed at improving connectivity between Chandigarh, Pathankot, and Jammu and Kashmir, reducing travel time between Jammu and Delhi.
After initiating various crucial projects, CM Mann highlighted the state’s progress under the AAP government, contrasting it with the alleged lack of development in the past due to traditional Opposition parties’ policies. He expressed pride in the state’s development trajectory and emphasized the government’s efforts to accelerate progress, aiming to establish a prosperous Punjab. Mann underscored the government’s commitment to fulfilling promises made to the people, emphasizing the implementation of the People’s Manifesto, which addresses the public’s genuine demands.
Targeting the Opposition, Mann accused them of attempting to tarnish his image out of envy for the government’s welfare initiatives. He asserted that the state government has bridged a 70-year gap in development within a short period, striving to create a vibrant Punjab through dedicated efforts.
