Punjab FC has secured the signing of Mohammad Inam, the star midfielder and captain of Real Kashmir FC, on a two-year contract. Inam, a native of Jammu & Kashmir, will be part of Punjab FC until May 31, 2028. He led Real Kashmir FC during the 2025-26 Indian Football League season, making 53 appearances and contributing six goals along with two assists.
Born and raised in Srinagar, Inam’s football journey began at the age of 10. His talent was recognized by the All India Football Federation, leading to an invitation for the AFC U-16 national team trials while playing for Real Kashmir’s youth teams. Inam’s senior career started with Lonestar Kashmir before moving to Delhi FC in 2021, where he participated in the I-League Qualifiers and the Durand Cup.
After stints with Real Kashmir and Downtown Heroes, Inam returned to Real Kashmir, establishing himself as a pivotal midfielder and eventually being appointed as the captain for the 2025-26 Indian Football League season. Expressing his enthusiasm about joining Punjab FC, Inam stated, “I’m excited to wear the Punjab FC colours. This is a fantastic opportunity, and I’m looking forward to giving everything on the pitch and creating special memories with the team and our supporters.”
Punjab FC also announced the contract extension of goalkeeper Arshdeep Singh for two more years, securing his stay at the club until May 31, 2028. Arshdeep, originally from Mahilpur, joined Punjab FC before the 2025 season, bringing experience and local knowledge to the team’s goalkeeping department. He has a strong presence in Indian football, having played for various clubs in the Indian Super League (ISL) and earning a reputation as a reliable goalkeeper.
Developed by the AIFF Elite Academy, Arshdeep’s professional breakthrough came with Minerva Punjab, where he played a crucial role in their historic I-League triumph in the 2017-18 season. His journey also includes valuable continental experience from AFC competitions before transitioning to the ISL. Arshdeep has had spells with Odisha FC, FC Goa, and Hyderabad FC (now Sporting Club Delhi), accumulating significant top-flight experience. Since joining Punjab FC, he has played a key role in bolstering the team’s defensive line.
