The Punjab government has entered a partnership with NICDC Logistics Data Services Limited (NLDSL) to enhance the state’s logistics ecosystem digitally. Through the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP), NLDSL will assist Punjab in creating a connected logistics network, promoting seamless data exchange among departments. This collaboration aims to boost logistics visibility, operational efficiency, inter-departmental coordination, and data-driven decision-making by facilitating real-time logistics data exchange.
The initiative is expected to benefit various stakeholders in Punjab, including industries, MSMEs, exporters, and other logistics participants. By enhancing transparency, expediting policy decisions, and strengthening logistics efficiency, the move will elevate Punjab’s status as a key manufacturing, agricultural, and export hub. An interactive workshop on ULIP was conducted for senior state officials from departments like transport, warehousing, and civil aviation to explore state-specific applications for addressing logistics challenges and enhancing supply chain visibility.
During the workshop, NLDSL showcased its digital platforms, illustrating how integrated logistics data can support asset tracking, operational planning, inter-agency coordination, and evidence-based decision-making. ULIP acts as a centralized digital hub for logistics data from various government systems through API-based integration. Currently, the platform integrates 46 systems from 12 Central Ministries and Departments using 142 APIs, covering over 2,000 data fields. It has facilitated the development of numerous applications and over 450 crore API transactions, showcasing its scalability, reliability, and robustness.
NICDC manages the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA), aiming to establish 100 investment-ready industrial parks nationwide with an investment of Rs 33,660 crore.
