Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) apprehended four individuals involved in a gangster module run by foreign-based criminals. The arrests led to the seizure of two foreign-made .30 calibre pistols and eight cartridges. The accused, hailing from various villages in Patiala, were identified as Arman Singh, Chirag, Ravinder Singh (alias Rahul), and Akshay (alias Prince).
Police not only recovered the firearms but also impounded the suspects’ sedan used for transportation. Investigations unveiled that one of the arrested individuals, Akshay, played a role in the 2025 murder of a showroom owner in Abohar. The group was intercepted near the Janetpur link road on the Ambala-Chandigarh highway, where the weapons were confiscated.
Additional Director General of Police (AGTF) Promod Ban disclosed that the operatives were intercepted based on credible information while en route to Mohali. The gang members, directed by their overseas handlers, were allegedly planning significant criminal activities in the state. Senior Superintendent of Police (Mohali) Harmandeep Hans stated that these arrests have prevented potential crimes in the region.
