Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav conveyed greetings to Jagjit Singh Bawa, a retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, on his 100th birthday. The DGP praised Bawa for his century of dedicated service to duty, honor, and the nation. Bawa, a respected figure in the Punjab cadre of IPS, symbolizes a generation of officers known for their professionalism and fearlessness.
Special DGP S.S. Srivastava and DIG Amneet Kondal visited Bawa to extend the force’s respect and best wishes. Bawa joined the service in 1951 and held various positions, including SSP of Ferozepur. He later served as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Inspector General before his tenure at the CBI in New Delhi. Bawa retired in 1985 after an extension beyond the retirement age.
DGP Yadav commended Bawa for maintaining integrity and public trust during his tenure as Inspector General and CBI Director. Bawa’s legacy serves as an inspiration for current and future officers, reflecting high standards of service and dedication.
