Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu will lead a 24-member Indian team at the Australian Open 2026. The tournament, a BWF Super 500 event, will kick off in Sydney on Tuesday. Notably, star players like Lakshya Sen and Kidambi Srikanth will be absent from this year’s competition.

India’s women’s singles challenge will be spearheaded by PV Sindhu at the Quaycentre in Sydney. Alongside Sindhu, players like Malvika Bansod, Anmol Kharb, and others will compete in the women’s singles category. In the men’s singles draw, India will rely on players like HS Prannoy and Ayush Shetty to make a mark.

The trio of Prannoy, Ayush Shetty, and Kiran George will lead India’s charge in the men’s singles category. These players are aiming to perform better in Sydney after facing early exits in the Indonesia Open last week. Additionally, youngsters like Tharun Mannepalli and Saneeth Dayanand will also represent India in men’s singles.

In the men’s doubles event, India will miss the services of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty due to Satwik’s shoulder injury. MR Arjun and Hariharan Amsakarunan will carry India’s hopes in men’s doubles after their quarterfinal appearance in Jakarta. India will not have any representation in the women’s doubles competition this year.

Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto will lead India’s challenge in the mixed doubles category. They will be joined by other pairs like Dhruv Rawat and Manisha Keer. Siblings Mohit Jaglan and Lakshita Jaglan will also represent India in mixed doubles at the Australian Open 2026.
