Qatar has strongly denounced the recent Iranian attacks on Oman, targeting the commercial port of Duqm and an oil tanker near its coast. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar expressed full support for Oman in safeguarding its sovereignty, security, and stability. Qatar criticized the attacks as a violation of Oman’s sovereignty and an unacceptable escalation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar emphasized that the attacks undermine Oman’s role as a mediator between Iran and the international community. Qatar’s condemnation highlighted the importance of constructive dialogue to resolve conflicts peacefully. Qatar’s Advisor to the Prime Minister and spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majed Mohammed Al-Ansari, warned that such attacks threaten the crucial role of mediators in maintaining peace and stability.
Following the drone attacks on the commercial port of Duqm, Oman News Agency reported that one drone hit a mobile workers’ housing unit, injuring an expatriate worker. The second drone’s debris fell near fuel storage tanks, causing no casualties or material damage. Oman condemned the attacks and assured that it would take necessary actions to ensure the safety of its people and residents.
