Filmmaker Prosit Roy’s “Raakh,” featuring Ali Fazal, Sonali Bendre, and Aamir Bashir, is set to premiere on Prime Video on June 12. The movie blends the suspense of a manhunt with a deep dive into trauma. It revolves around the mysterious disappearance of two teenagers, leading to a city-wide panic and a shattered family.
Director and Executive Producer of “Raakh,” Prosit Roy, expressed that the project was emotionally intense and creatively fulfilling. The film delves beyond a typical crime thriller, exploring the complexities of human nature and trauma. Roy praised the meticulous research and rich storytelling by Anusha and Sandeep, the creators of the series.
Rishi Negi, Group Chief Operating Officer at Banijay Asia & Endemol Shine India, highlighted the uniqueness of “Raakh” in the crime thriller genre. The series stands out for its intricate storytelling, avoiding simplistic resolutions and portraying characters with depth. The cast, including Ali, Sonali, and Aamir, brought exceptional depth to their roles, according to Negi.
“Raakh” is a creation of Anusha Nandakumar and Sandeep Saket, with dialogues by Ayush Trivedi. The series is produced by Endemol Shine India in collaboration with BhaDiPa, under the production of Deepak Dhar, Rishi Negi, Mrinalini Jain, and Shyam Rathi.
