Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav protested the removal of their Z+ security cover by returning all security personnel from their official residence. The RJD criticized the government, accusing it of resorting to “revenge-driven politics” to weaken the opposition. RJD spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav condemned the reduction in security for the Lalu family, calling it politically motivated and against democratic principles.
The RJD spokesperson expressed concerns over the government’s intentions, alleging that the security cutbacks were an attempt to intimidate political opponents. Despite being prominent political figures, Rabri Devi and Lalu Prasad Yadav saw their security arrangements reduced, raising questions within the party. Singh questioned the rationale behind the move, suggesting that the ruling party might want to leave the Lalu family vulnerable to attacks.
Singh accused the government of targeting opposition leaders to marginalize and weaken them, citing a pattern of controversies aimed at the opposition. He emphasized that such actions undermine democratic values and the role of opposition parties in the political system. The RJD spokesperson warned that any harm to public leaders would not be tolerated by the people of Bihar, reaffirming the party’s opposition to the reported security cover reduction.
