Racing Santander secured a 4-1 victory over Real Valladolid, marking their return to La Liga after 14 years. The team’s top scorer, Andres Martin, netted two goals, with Asier Villalibre and Suleiman Camera also finding the back of the net. Currently leading the Spanish second-division standings by seven points, Racing has clinched one of the two automatic promotion spots with two games left.

With 85 goals in 40 matches, Racing also leads in scoring but has conceded 59 goals. Coach Jose Alberto expressed his emotions post-match, dedicating the win to the club and his family. Winger Inigo Vicente credited the fans for their unwavering support during tough times, emphasizing Racing’s dominance throughout the season.

Midfielder Peio Canales, on loan from Athletic Bilbao, celebrated the promotion, highlighting the team’s consistent performance and resilience. Racing’s journey back to La Liga involved dropping to the third tier before climbing back to the second division in 2022. The battle for the remaining promotion spots will unfold in the coming weeks, determining the final teams to join La Liga.
