Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, along with three fellow MPs, met President Droupadi Murmu to discuss concerns about the alleged misuse of state machinery by the AAP-led Punjab government. Chadha stated that after two-thirds of the MPs decided to merge with the BJP, they faced targeted harassment from the Punjab government.
Chadha highlighted that the AAP government in Punjab was misusing state resources to intimidate them for exercising their constitutional rights. He emphasized the need to respect democratic choices and constitutional rights, drawing reassurance from the President’s response.
The MPs expressed dissatisfaction with the conduct of the AAP post their exit, describing it as vindictive. Chadha detailed incidents of alleged harassment faced by multiple MPs since their merger with the BJP on April 24, 2026. He accused the Punjab government of targeting individuals like Harbhajan Singh and Rajinder Gupta.
Chadha cautioned against a dangerous escalation of political retaliation, urging the AAP to refrain from engaging in revenge and retaliation games. He emphasized the potential risks of such actions and called for a more constructive approach to political differences.
