Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, reiterated his claims that the BJP had tampered with elections in Haryana and influenced Assembly polls in West Bengal and Assam. He urged young Congress leaders to lead Sadbhav Yatras to counter what he termed as divisive politics. Gandhi alleged that elections in states like Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Assam were manipulated through voter list alterations.
He accused the ruling party of controlling the Election Commission and bureaucracy to ensure electoral victories. Gandhi warned that public discontent would end the BJP’s reign soon. He criticized the BJP for privatizing infrastructure assets, airports, and power plants, with the Andaman and Nicobar Islands being their latest target for development.
Asserting the Congress party’s determination to challenge the BJP, Rahul Gandhi emphasized the clash of ideologies between the RSS and Congress. He claimed that only the Congress Party, based on unity and love, could prevail over the BJP’s ideology of hatred and division. Gandhi accused the BJP of undermining democratic institutions and attacking the Constitution drafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
During the culmination of the Sadbhav Yatra led by Brijendra Singh in Hisar, covering 72 Assembly constituencies in 183 days, Rahul Gandhi highlighted unemployment as a major concern in Haryana. He criticized the closure of small industries to favor big businesses and raised concerns about the influx of Chinese products in the market. Gandhi also criticized the India-US trade deal, alleging it compromised the interests of Indian farmers.
Encouraging party workers, Rahul Gandhi called for Congress leaders nationwide to conduct yatras to engage with the public directly and understand their sentiments better.
