Senior Congress MLA and Chief Whip Ashok Pattan revealed that Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, has summoned Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to Delhi. This move aims to address the ongoing confusion within the party. Pattan emphasized that all issues would be sorted out during the Delhi meeting.
Pattan clarified that despite media speculation, no discussions occurred between Rahul Gandhi and the Karnataka leaders at the airport. However, Gandhi has requested both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar to visit Delhi for resolving the internal party matters. The leaders are expected to travel to Delhi post the Sankranti festival.
The political scenario in Karnataka has intensified as Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar, a potential candidate for the Chief Minister’s position, shared a cryptic message on social media. The message, “Efforts may fail, but prayers never do,” has sparked further speculation. Sources close to Shivakumar indicated that Rahul Gandhi has assured him of a positive outcome and a forthcoming meeting in Delhi.
Amidst these developments, there are expectations of a Cabinet reshuffle and discussions on various issues during the Delhi meeting. The situation remains fluid, with Shivakumar’s camp optimistic about receiving favorable news. Congress insiders anticipate a crucial gathering by the end of the month to address the leadership dynamics in Karnataka.
