Rahul Gandhi criticized the Bihar government, led by the BJP, for its response to the recent protests by teacher aspirants in Patna. He condemned the police action against the aspirants, calling it brutal and highlighting the challenges faced by unemployed youth in the country. Gandhi expressed concern over the increasing joblessness, particularly affecting the youth in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

The Congress leader accused the BJP government of ignoring the demands of educated young people struggling to secure employment despite their qualifications. He emphasized that instead of providing opportunities, the government was resorting to force when youth protested for their rights. Gandhi asserted that the youth are no longer willing to stay silent and declared his party’s unwavering support for them.

Rahul Gandhi’s comments came following a massive protest in Patna where teacher recruitment aspirants demanded the immediate release of a recruitment advertisement by the Bihar Public Service Commission. The protest turned tense as police used a lathi-charge to disperse the crowd near JP Golambar, resulting in injuries to several students. Aspirants alleged confusion and delays in the recruitment process due to the commission’s actions.
