Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi criticized the government for a “rigged” education system and called for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak issue. Gandhi alleged that the education system in India had suffered significant damage under the current administration, citing numerous examination paper leaks affecting millions of students and their families.

Gandhi highlighted the challenges faced by students from lower-income families, emphasizing the lack of equal opportunities despite their hard work and financial sacrifices. He supported ongoing protests, accusing the government of using force to suppress students and demanding accountability for the NEET lapses, along with an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In response, the BJP dismissed Gandhi’s claims, accusing the Congress of politicizing the matter instead of supporting necessary reforms. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticized the Opposition for allegedly provoking students and engaging in political activities at the expense of national interests. He accused the Congress of attempting to create disorder under the guise of supporting students near the Prime Minister’s residence.

Several NEET-qualified candidates expressed concerns over the growing politicization of the protests, emphasizing the need for education reforms and a strengthened examination system. While supporting action against paper leaks, they believed that focusing on accountability and system improvements would be more effective than demanding the Education Minister’s resignation.
