Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is set to visit Vadodara on Monday to participate in the ‘Adivasi Samvidhan Adhikar Sammelan’. The event, scheduled from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., will see the presence of tribal community members from central and eastern Gujarat.
Rajendrakumar Parghi, chairperson of the Adivasi Congress of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC), confirmed Gandhi’s one-day visit to Vadodara. Gandhi is expected to engage with the state party’s core leadership to assess preparations for the upcoming local body elections and by-elections.
In recent days, the Congress has established various state-level committees to streamline its election strategy in Gujarat. These committees, including those for strategy, campaign management, election operations, manifesto preparation, and media outreach, aim to enhance the party’s coordination and planning for the local bodies’ elections in the state.
Senior Congress leaders have been appointed to key roles within these committees, with Bharatsinh Solanki leading the strategy committee, Shaktisinh Gohil heading the campaign committee, and Siddharth Patel chairing the election management committee. Gandhi’s sustained focus on Gujarat over the past year has been part of an organizational restructuring initiative aimed at strengthening the party’s presence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state.
