Madhya Pradesh Congress President, Jitu Patwari, mentioned that Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, is closely monitoring the water contamination crisis in Bhagirathpura, Indore. Gandhi is expected to visit the affected families soon. Patwari urged the people of Indore to continue raising their voices until the government takes action against those responsible.

Patwari, during a visit to Bhagirathpura, where contaminated water led to multiple deaths and hospitalizations, expressed hope for concrete steps from Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. Rahul Gandhi had previously expressed sorrow over the tragedy and criticized the ruling BJP government for the situation. The Congress, under Jitu Patwari’s leadership, has strongly criticized the Madhya Pradesh government, demanding accountability from officials and local representatives.

A medical expert panel investigating the Bhagirathpura deaths has linked at least 15 fatalities to vomiting and diarrhea outbreaks. The panel’s death analysis report is expected to be presented in the High Court soon. The state administration, in collaboration with the Indore Municipal Corporation, is conducting health screenings for residents in Bhagirathpura. Over 16,000 individuals have been screened in the area over the past three days.
