The visit of Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, to families affected by contaminated water in Indore has stirred political debate. BJP leaders criticized Gandhi, accusing him of exploiting the tragedy for political gain. Shahnawaz Hussain stated that the Madhya Pradesh government had already taken necessary actions to address the situation.
Reacting to Gandhi’s visit, Hussain emphasized that the state administration had acted promptly and responsibly. He criticized Gandhi for allegedly politicizing the issue instead of focusing on relief efforts. BJP MP Naresh Bansal echoed similar sentiments, urging against politicizing the unfortunate incident.
During his visit, Gandhi met affected families and patients in Indore, particularly in the area where the outbreak was centered. Accompanied by Madhya Pradesh Congress leaders, he aimed to assess the situation on the ground and show support to those impacted. While local residents claim higher casualties, the state government has officially confirmed seven deaths.
