A historic milestone was reached as the railway link to Punjab’s Talwandi Sabo, the sacred land of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, one of the five Takhts of Sikhism, was approved. Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh emphasized that this project signifies faith, pride, and long-overdue justice for Punjab. The connection of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib to the other four Takhts through this railway link is a significant move in enhancing religious and regional connectivity.
The Raman Mandi-Sadda Singhwala New Broad Gauge Rail Line Project, part of the Mansa-Bathinda Doubling Project, is a substantial infrastructure endeavor. Covering 42.9 km at a cost of Rs 1,118.47 crore, averaging Rs 26.07 crore per km, it will benefit the districts of Mansa and Bathinda, boosting transportation and regional development. The project, requiring 192.42 hectares of land, will include six stations, with two existing and four new ones, and key features like major bridges, minor bridges, road under bridges, electric traction, and an advanced signalling system.
Minister Ravneet Singh criticized past governments in Punjab for neglecting infrastructure development and Sikh heritage preservation. He commended the current leadership, particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for addressing long-standing demands by connecting all five Takhts through tangible development initiatives, honoring Sikh faith through progress and infrastructure.
