The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has been actively working to maintain passenger safety and prevent unlawful activities in the region. Recent operations conducted by RPF personnel have led to the detection of illegal transportation of liquor and narcotics. Unclaimed liquor bottles were found in various trains and railway stations in Alipurduar, Katihar, and Dalkhola areas.
In separate actions at Agartala railway station, RPF teams seized over 16 kg of ganja, handing the contraband over to the authorities for legal action. Additionally, offenders involved in ticketing irregularities and theft-related offenses were apprehended at railway premises on the same day. Rescue operations were also carried out at Rangapara and New Bongaigaon railway stations, where minors were rescued and placed under the care of Child Welfare Committees.
On May 26, RPF teams rescued several minors from different railway stations and ensured their safety through collaboration with Child Welfare Committees and child assistance agencies. Another significant initiative involved an eviction drive at the Amingaon Eco Park area to clear unauthorized encroachments from railway land, enhancing operational safety and security.
Northeast Frontier Railway, headquartered near Guwahati, is dedicated to maintaining a safe and passenger-friendly railway environment through continuous vigilance and coordinated operations by the Railway Protection Force.
