The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway has recently conducted successful operations to enhance passenger safety and security. In one instance, the Crime Prevention and Detection Squad (CPDS) team in Rangiya apprehended an individual on April 13 for stealing a mobile phone valued at around Rs 40,000. The accused was handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Rangiya for further legal action.
On April 14, the RPF personnel in Katihar caught another individual at Katihar Railway Station for stealing a mobile phone worth about Rs 15,000. The accused was transferred to GRP, Katihar, for necessary proceedings under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Additionally, on the same day, the RPF team in Guwahati nabbed a person at Guwahati Railway Station for stealing a mobile phone valued at approximately Rs 15,000. The accused was then handed over to GRP, Guwahati, for legal action.
Continuing their vigilance, on April 16, the RPF Post in New Bongaigaon apprehended an individual at Bongaigaon Railway Station with a stolen mobile phone worth around Rs 10,000. The accused was subsequently handed over to GRP, New Bongaigaon, for further legal procedures. These operations underscore the dedication of RPF personnel in safeguarding passengers and their belongings, emphasizing the NFR’s commitment to ensuring a safe travel environment.
