Raj Thackeray, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief, criticized Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for the recent water leakage in the Mumbai-Pune Expressway ‘Missing Link’ tunnel. Thackeray accused the government of hiding failures behind emotional rhetoric during the MNS Railway Kamgar Sena anniversary event.
Thackeray questioned Fadnavis’s defence in the Legislative Assembly and mocked his warning against politicizing the issue. He highlighted the Chief Minister’s objection to criticism and dismissed claims of insulting Maharashtra during discussions on the Missing Link project.
The MNS Chief also targeted Fadnavis for issuing warnings to critics and criticized his sudden shift to speaking in Hindi during the Assembly session. Thackeray alleged widespread corruption in government contracts, compromising construction quality and infrastructure development in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and Thane.
Highlighting the structural flaws of the mega-project, Thackeray pointed out the water leakage in the newly inaugurated tunnel and alleged contractor kickbacks, stating that some contractors claim to pay significant bribes for project execution.
