Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray expressed strong disapproval of the current political situation in Maharashtra and the nation, labeling it as “dirty and horrifying.” At a press conference in Thane, Thackeray specifically targeted the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and criticized the rebel MPs and MLAs who parted ways with the Shiv Sena faction led by Uddhav Thackeray.
Thackeray did not hold back in his criticism of the prevalent trend of political defections, using a vivid analogy to highlight the issue. He raised concerns about the ethical standards in politics, questioning the integrity of those willing to switch sides for personal gains.
The MNS chief cautioned that the prevailing political culture could have detrimental effects on future generations if not addressed promptly. He emphasized the need for politicians to consider the long-term consequences of their actions and urged for a more principled approach to governance.
Thackeray drew parallels to historical events and India’s past Emergency period, warning that the BJP’s tactics to weaken political adversaries could lead to internal strife within the party. He highlighted the risks associated with concentrating power in a single individual, emphasizing the fragility of the current political structure.
In his address to MNS office-bearers, Thackeray touched upon the issue of electoral integrity, citing alleged irregularities in the assembly elections in West Bengal and Bihar. He also pointed out a strategic pattern in breaking opposition parties without direct mergers into the BJP, hinting at potential power struggles within the ruling party in the future.
