A day after facing defeat in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and 28 other civic bodies’ elections, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena leader Raj Thackeray affirmed his commitment to the Marathi cause. He urged elected members to support the ‘Marathi Manoos’ and remain steadfast despite alleged harassment attempts by the ruling coalition.
Thackeray, who contested in alliance with Shiv Sena-UBT, congratulated the elected corporators and praised their efforts in a tough electoral battle. While acknowledging the party’s underwhelming performance, he emphasized resilience and determination to protect Marathi interests and Maharashtra’s prosperity.
Expressing disappointment over the election outcome, Thackeray reassured that the elected corporators would confront any challenges faced by the Marathi community. He highlighted the enduring nature of their struggle and called for collective analysis and action to address shortcomings and plan the way forward.
Emphasizing the ongoing fight for Marathi pride and prosperity, Thackeray warned against potential exploitation of the Marathi community by those in power. He urged unity and unwavering support for the Marathi cause, emphasizing the importance of staying true to their roots and identity.
Thackeray concluded by stressing the significance of Marathi identity and the need to rebuild the party and organization. Despite the setback in winning only six seats, he urged supporters to remain committed to their cause and prepare for future challenges.
