In a significant development during a campaign to enhance internal security and combat cybercrime in Rajasthan, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in Rajasthan, along with the Hanumangarh district police, dismantled an illicit Aadhaar enrolment center in Bhadra. The main suspect, Kuldeep Sharma, was apprehended on the spot. The operation was initiated based on a confidential tip received by the ATS Jaipur Unit regarding the unauthorized issuance of Aadhaar cards at a facility near the Arya Samaj Dharamshala in Bhadra.
Additional Director General of Police (ATS & AGTF), Dinesh M.N., mentioned that the operation was conducted under the guidance of ATS Inspector General Rajesh Singh and Deputy Inspector General Yogesh Yadav, with on-ground leadership provided by Superintendent of Police Gyanchand Yadav. The raid uncovered the accused using the login details of authorized operators at the center. Law enforcement recovered fake fingerprints and printed iris images used to bypass biometric systems, along with forged signatures on enrolment receipts in the names of other operators. Numerous incriminating documents and devices, including a laptop, printer, iris scanner, fingerprint/palm scanner, GPS device, camera, fingerprint molds, and a mobile phone, were seized.
Preliminary findings suggest that the illicitly generated Aadhaar cards might have been utilized for acquiring fake SIM cards, opening fraudulent bank accounts, or aiding cybercrime and anti-national activities. Authorities emphasized that prompt intelligence and decisive action helped prevent a potential security threat. The accused faces charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act, with further inquiries entrusted to the Station House Officer of Bhirani Police Station.
The suspect is currently undergoing intensive interrogation, with investigators striving to identify beneficiaries of the forged Aadhaar cards and explore potential connections to interstate or organized cybercrime networks. Forensic analysis of confiscated electronic devices is also in progress. The operation received significant backing from Hanumangarh Police, led by Superintendent of Police Narendra Singh Meena and Deputy Superintendent of Police Karan Singh, with crucial contributions from ATS personnel like Assistant Sub-Inspector Kulveer Singh and Head Constable Suresh Kumar, who provided essential intelligence. The local Bhadra police team played a pivotal role in executing the raid.
This successful collaborative effort underscores the ongoing endeavors of Rajasthan Police and ATS in combatting cybercrime and upholding national security.
