Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma highlighted Rajasthan’s role in India’s digital transformation, revealing investment proposals exceeding Rs 43,000 crore in the data center sector. The state aims to become a preferred investment hub for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data centers, focusing on enhancing digital infrastructure and governance transparency.
During a round-table discussion post the 29th National Conference on e-Governance, the Chief Minister emphasized Rajasthan’s commitment to the ‘Viksit Bharat–Viksit Rajasthan 2047’ vision under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. The state’s digital ecosystem is rapidly evolving, shifting its identity from a tourism-centric to a digital-focused region.
Rajasthan’s educational strength, with over 100 universities and nearly 4,000 colleges producing a significant number of graduates annually, is a key asset. The iStart initiative has fostered over 8,700 startups, attracting investments exceeding ₹1,000 crore and creating more than 48,000 direct jobs, showcasing the state’s growing entrepreneurial landscape.
The state’s plans include establishing an AI Centre of Excellence to enhance collaboration among industry, startups, academia, and government. Noteworthy investments by companies like STT GDC, HG Akaya, Nayo Bolt, and Ztudium in AI-ready data centers signify growing industry confidence in Rajasthan’s digital infrastructure.
Rajasthan’s investor-friendly environment offers support through land availability, power supply, and streamlined policies. The state is also crafting progressive regulations for emerging sectors like AI, data centers, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), drones, and geospatial technology, leveraging its green energy resources and transparent governance.
To foster startup growth, Rajasthan has eased public procurement barriers, encouraging new enterprises to engage in government projects. The Chief Minister urged entrepreneurs to view Rajasthan as a strategic partner for research, innovation, job creation, and technology development, emphasizing long-term collaboration.
Industry leaders and experts shared insights on AI, data centers, Cloud computing, quantum computing, semiconductors, and the startup ecosystem during the round-table discussion. The event witnessed the presence of key officials, including Information Technology and Communication Minister Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, highlighting the state’s commitment to digital advancement.
