The Rajasthan Cabinet, under Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, has approved key decisions including a bill safeguarding properties of permanent residents and tenants in disturbed areas. The proposed law prohibits property transfers without prior approval in such areas, aiming to maintain communal harmony. Additionally, the Cabinet endorsed policies to enhance aerospace, defense manufacturing, and semiconductor production in the state.
Industry and Commerce Minister Col Rajyavardhan Rathore, along with Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel and Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara, shared details post the Cabinet meeting. The approved draft, known as The Rajasthan Prohibition of Transfer of Immovable Property and Provision for Protection of Tenants from Eviction from Premises in Disturbed Areas Bill, 2026, addresses the challenges faced by residents in affected regions.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel highlighted the need for the bill, citing disturbances that lead to property sales at distress prices. The legislation mandates approval for property transfers in disturbed areas to prevent unauthorized transactions. Violation of these regulations could result in imprisonment and fines, aiming to protect residents’ properties and tenants’ rights while upholding social harmony.
Rajyavardhan Rathore announced the approval of the Rajasthan Aerospace and Defence Policy, focusing on advancing defense and space technology in the state. The policy aims to bolster MSMEs, startups, and innovation-driven ecosystems, encouraging the establishment of manufacturing units and related facilities. Projects falling under different investment categories will be eligible for incentives to promote growth and development in the aerospace and defense sectors.
