A Cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma sanctioned the Rajasthan Industrial Development Policy to elevate the state into a global industrial hub by 2047. The policy aims at a $350 billion state economy by 2028-29, focusing on eco-friendly production and renewable energy. It also emphasizes fast-track approvals and infrastructure development within the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor.
The Council of Ministers discussed key issues like water conservation campaigns and initiatives for differently-abled persons. The Cabinet applauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for receiving the FAO’s Agricola Medal. The policy, based on “4G” pillars, will promote sectors like semiconductors, data centers, and defense manufacturing.
Rajasthan’s Industry and Commerce Minister highlighted the policy’s focus on research and technology transfer to boost investment. The state will encourage private sector participation in industrial infrastructure development. The policy will offer incentives to MSMEs, ODOP initiatives, and the export sector.
Water Resources Minister Suresh Singh Rawat outlined plans for the Vande Ganga Water Conservation Mass Campaign starting on May 25. The campaign includes cleaning activities, cleanliness drives, and tree plantation initiatives. The state government aims to ensure smooth water and electricity supply during the ongoing heatwave conditions.
