Jaipur, Aug 14 (IANS) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested three officials of North Western Railway (NWR), Jaipur, and two officials of North Western Railway (NWR), Bikaner, along with two private persons in two separate bribery cases, an official said on Friday.

In the Jaipur case, the CBI arrested three officials and an employee of a private company on Thursday, according to an official statement.

The three officials were identified as: Sangeeta Kumari, Office Superintendent, North Western Railway (NWR), Jaipur; S. N. Bairwa, Assistant Financial Advisor, NWR, Jaipur; and Sunil Kumar Sanghi, Senior SO, NWR, Jaipur, the CBI said.

Gaurav Gupta, an employee of Dinesh Engineers Ltd. (DEPL), Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, was also arrested, it said.

The CBI registered the case on August 13 against an Office Superintendent, North Western Railway (NWR), Jaipur, who, in collusion and conspiracy with other unknown public servants/private persons and officials of the private company, was accepting illegal gratification of Rs 1.46 lakh in exchange for favourable processing and passing of bills for the work being executed by the company under NWR, Jaipur.

During the trap operation, the CBI said it arrested the four accused and seized incriminating documents and electronic devices.

Subsequent searches led to the recovery of Rs 9 lakh in cash from multiple locations in Jaipur and Delhi, the CBI said.

In the second case in Bikaner, Rajendra Choudhary, Senior Section Officer, North Western Railway (NWR), Bikaner, and Rakesh Kumar, Account Assistant, NWR, Bikaner, were arrested on Thursday along with Naval Kishore, an employee of MRT Signals Ltd, Kolkata, the CBI said.

The railway employees were caught taking a bribe of Rs 1.20 lakh in exchange for favourable processing and passing of bills for work being executed by the company under NWR, Bikaner division, the CBI said.

Later, the CBI said it conducted searches at multiple locations in Bikaner and Jaipur and seized incriminating documents and electronic devices.
