Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma highlighted the crucial role of civic body employees in achieving the ‘Viksit Rajasthan 2047’ vision. Speaking at the Rajasthan Municipal Employees Federation’s ninth Grand Convention, he stressed the importance of honesty, transparency, and timely public service for good governance. Sharma urged employees to uphold integrity and steer clear of corrupt practices to ensure efficient public service delivery.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s firm stance against corruption, citing the suspension of 103 officials and dismissal of six, with pensions of 11 officials permanently withheld. He mentioned that 108 cases involving bribery and misuse of official position have received prosecution sanctions, with action initiated in 37 additional cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Sharma credited civic body employees as the backbone of urban sanitation and public services, emphasizing the significance of cleanliness and quality civic amenities in defining a city’s identity. He pointed out the achievements in the Swachh Survekshan 2025, where Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation secured the 16th rank nationally among cities with over one million population, and Udaipur ranked 13th among cities with a population between three lakh and one million.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the state’s focus on water conservation, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure development under the Smart Cities Mission. He mentioned initiatives like the Vande Ganga Water Conservation and Public Campaign and the Hariyalo Rajasthan project aimed at planting millions of saplings. Sharma emphasized the state’s commitment to technology, transparency, and accountability to develop clean, organized, and modern urban centers.
