Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma highlighted the crucial role of farmers in the nation on Friday. He mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transferred the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi to millions of farming families, with over 66.76 lakh farmers in Rajasthan receiving more than Rs 1,355 crore. Sharma reiterated the state government’s unwavering support for farmers in all circumstances.
Farmers have been a key focus for PM Modi, according to Sharma, who noted a fresh approach to farmer-related policies under Modi’s leadership. Recognizing farmers as the backbone of the nation, Sharma emphasized the Prime Minister’s dedication to ensuring their prosperity through various schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The state government, Sharma stated, is dedicated to protecting farmers’ interests and enhancing their well-being.
The Chief Minister also mentioned the implementation of the Chief Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in Rajasthan, providing eligible farmers with an annual honorarium of Rs 3,000, set to increase gradually to Rs 12,000. Additionally, the Crop Insurance Scheme offers higher compensation for crop damage compared to previous schemes, with Rs 6,473 crore already distributed in insurance claims across the state. Sharma highlighted the state government’s significant allocation of Rs 1,19,408 crore for agriculture in the 2026–27 budget, reflecting a substantial 34% increase from the previous government’s final budget.
Under the Chief Minister Mangala Livestock Insurance Scheme, more than 16 lakh livestock have received free insurance policies, with efficient claims settlement processes in place. Furthermore, 536 mobile veterinary units are actively providing services in villages throughout the state.
