Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma highlighted the importance of finishing development projects on time and ensuring prompt delivery of benefits to the public as top priorities for the state government. He warned against any negligence or delays in these duties, instructing officials to accelerate development efforts under a policy of “Zero Tolerance.” The Chief Minister issued these directives during the seventh Raj Unnati review meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office, emphasizing the need for swift action without excuses.
Reviewing projects totaling around Rs 15,890 crore across seven departments, including schemes like the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee District Upliftment Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin, the Chief Minister also assessed progress on the Jaipur Ring Road (North) project. He urged officials to collaborate with the Forest Department and Railways to address pending issues promptly and kickstart the project. This initiative, with a Detailed Project Report already submitted for Union Cabinet approval, aims to alleviate traffic congestion in Jaipur.
In another review, the Chief Minister focused on the Panch Gaurav program, directing the Chief Secretary to devise a robust expansion strategy and ensure diligent monitoring of its execution. Stressing the significance of local products in driving district economies, he called for enhanced promotion through the scheme. Additionally, he urged districts falling short on last year’s expenditure to ramp up implementation immediately and emphasized the need for comprehensive measures to foster the development, promotion, and preservation of the program’s five key components in every district.
Further, the Chief Minister pushed for the swift transformation of RUHS into the Rajasthan Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), modeled after AIIMS, by resolving operational challenges. A substantial investment of Rs 750 crore is earmarked for establishing super-speciality medical facilities across 13 departments at RUHS. The initial phase will see the setup of specialized services in various medical fields by year-end, with plans for the institute’s inauguration by December.
