Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma opened the 29th National e-Governance Conference at the Rajasthan International Centre. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on technology for governance, leading to improved public service delivery. Initiatives like Jan-Dhan, Aadhaar, and Mobile (JAM) have reduced middlemen in welfare services, with Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) ensuring direct scheme benefits to bank accounts.
Chief Minister Sharma introduced the SMART Project, e-Mitra WhatsApp Service, and Rajasthan Innovation Challenge during the event. A new service allows citizens to access 27 government services by messaging “Hi” to a designated WhatsApp number. This initiative aims to enhance public service accessibility, reduce the need for physical visits to government offices, and streamline service delivery.
The conference attracted participants from over 80 Union Ministries, 28 states, and 8 Union Territories. Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions Jitendra Singh is expected to join the conference. The event also featured an exhibition showcasing technology-driven government services and digital solutions.
Chief Minister Sharma engaged in a round-table discussion with industry representatives, emphasizing Rajasthan’s supportive policies for data centers, artificial intelligence, and technology innovation. The state government pledged full assistance to entrepreneurs for building a strong digital and innovation ecosystem. Notable attendees included Information Technology and Communication Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore and other government officials.
