In a move to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for petrol and diesel conservation, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma rode in an electric bus from Jaipur to Thikariya village in Bagru. The Chief Minister, accompanied by senior officials, engaged in the ‘Gram Vikas Chaupal’ program and interacted with villagers directly.
This initiative was not only an administrative outreach effort but also a symbolic gesture to advocate for fuel conservation and environmental protection. During his village visit, Sharma discussed government welfare schemes with women, youth, and farmers, seeking their feedback on the schemes’ implementation.
Emphasizing transparency in recruitment processes and equal opportunities for youth, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to fair recruitment examinations. He commended the success of the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme in empowering women and boosting the rural economy, as well as the role of women’s self-help groups in village development.
Promoting natural farming practices, Sharma urged farmers to reduce reliance on chemical fertilizers like DAP and urea to cut cultivation costs and preserve soil fertility. Stressing the importance of fuel conservation, he encouraged citizens to embrace carpooling and public transport, underscoring the significant impact of small efforts on environmental protection.
The Chief Minister’s choice to travel in an electric bus to the village sparked discussions in political and administrative circles.
