Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has instructed revenue-generating departments to step up efforts against tax and revenue evasion. Emphasizing the importance of revenue collection for the state’s development and public welfare, he called for consistent momentum throughout the financial year to meet annual targets. Sharma urged strict action against tax evaders, leveraging technology and decoy operations for enforcement.
Officials were directed to study best practices from other states and integrate advanced technologies for efficient tax administration. The Chief Minister highlighted the need for timely disposal of GST-related cases, representation in court matters, and enforcement of GST return filing. Rajasthan saw a revenue increase of 11.54% to Rs 33,969 crore in the first quarter of the 2026-27 financial year.
Sharma stressed the coordination of departments to fulfill citizens’ aspirations and contribute to Rajasthan’s development. Specific directives were given to departments like Excise, Registration and Stamps, Mines and Petroleum, State Transport, and Labour to enhance operations and accountability. The Chief Minister also focused on urban development, instructing Urban Improvement Trusts to plan new residential schemes with modern amenities.
