Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has issued a strong warning regarding delays in public utility projects. He emphasized that administrative inefficiency impacting services like water supply, electricity, healthcare, and roads will not be tolerated. Sharma chaired the sixth ‘Raj Unnati’ meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office, where he made it clear that officials will be held responsible for project delays and could face strict actions.
Reviewing the progress of crucial development works, the Chief Minister expressed dissatisfaction over delays in the CETP pumping station and pipeline project in Sanganer. He instructed officials to conduct on-site inspections and ensure prompt completion of the project. Additionally, Sharma directed the Chief Secretary to streamline procedures related to project approvals, land acquisition, tendering, and work order issuance to expedite project implementation.
In a significant administrative move, the Chief Minister ordered the suspension of several officials, including the UIT Secretary, for issues related to the issuance of conflicting leases and commercial leases on land designated for public use. Emphasizing the government’s dedication to swift grievance redressal, Sharma instructed officials to compile district-wise reports on complaints received through the Sampark portal.
During a video conference, a resident of Hanumangarh expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for clearing encroachments from a public right of way that had been obstructed for 40 years. Subsequently, Sharma directed District Collectors to conduct service camps to address encroachment and revenue-related matters. He also urged them to complete drain-cleaning and road repair tasks before the monsoon to prepare for seasonal diseases.
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of completing all works within the set timeframe in mission mode across various departments. He reiterated the government’s focus on enhancing major religious sites and instructed the Tourism Department and RSRDC to implement the approved blueprint for the comprehensive development of the Khatu Shyam Ji temple area. This development plan includes various facilities like an interpretation center, pavilion, theater, and parking, all to be monitored for high-quality standards.
Sharma also highlighted the need for swift disposal of legacy waste at urban dumping sites to address waste management challenges effectively. He reviewed plans for the ‘Karmyogi Bhawan’ in Jaipur and directed immediate construction by the RSRDC to enhance administrative efficiency. Expressing concern over cost escalations in the Andheri Medium Irrigation Project, he instructed officials to issue work orders promptly for farmers to benefit from irrigation.
The meeting also assessed the implementation of the PM-JANMAN initiative, focusing on welfare programs for the Sahariya tribal community.
