Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas oversaw a high-level review meeting at Swasthya Bhawan to bolster safe maternity services in the state, focusing on improving digital monitoring and referral management for high-risk pregnancies. The meeting, conducted via video conference, assessed maternal healthcare services, high-risk pregnancy monitoring, referral mechanisms, digital tracking systems, and the readiness of government hospitals to provide care.

During the review, Srinivas issued directives to improve real-time monitoring and ensure prompt medical intervention. He specifically requested updates on high-risk pregnant women and Caesarean deliveries carried out in government hospitals in the last 24 hours. Officials reported successful and safe deliveries for all high-risk cases during this period.

The Chief Secretary engaged directly with Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) from Jaipur, Churu, and Jhunjhunu, instructing them to conduct regular follow-ups for high-risk pregnancies, closely monitor delivery dates, facilitate timely medical consultations, and arrange swift referrals as needed. Additionally, he evaluated the ‘Setu Digital Emergency Healthcare Software’ and advised the Medical and Health Department to create a similar integrated digital platform in partnership with the Department of Information Technology.

Srinivas emphasized the importance of establishing a state-level control room dedicated to safe motherhood services to ensure continuous monitoring of pregnant women and new mothers, aiding rapid decision-making during emergencies. Principal Secretary (Medical and Health) Gayatri Rathore directed officials to promptly implement the proposed digital monitoring system and stressed the significance of daily video conference reviews from the state to field units, alongside consistent compilation, analysis, and monitoring of health data for pregnant women and new mothers.
