Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma highlighted the crucial role of women in society, stating that their empowerment drives the nation’s progress. Speaking at an International Women’s Day event in Hanumangarh, he stressed the need for awareness about women’s rights, respect, and equal opportunities. Sharma praised women achievers like President Droupadi Murmu and sportspersons such as PV Sindhu for their contributions to the nation.

The Chief Minister commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives focusing on women, including the construction of over 12 crore toilets under the Swachh Bharat Mission. He also mentioned schemes like the Ujjwala Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which have benefited women across the country. Sharma highlighted the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, which provides 33% reservation for women in Parliament and State Assemblies, as a significant step towards women’s empowerment.

CM Sharma outlined various schemes in Rajasthan aimed at women’s welfare, including the creation of over 16 lakh Lakhpati Didis and financial assistance to self-help groups. He mentioned schemes like the Chief Minister’s Ekal Nari Samman Pension Scheme and the Chief Minister’s Kanyadaan Scheme, which support women financially. Additionally, he discussed initiatives like the Lado Protsahan Yojana, which promotes the health and education of girl children in the state.

The Chief Minister highlighted the state government’s efforts in reducing the investigation time for crimes against women and the decline in such cases. He also mentioned developmental projects in Hanumangarh, including bonus announcements for farmers and irrigation facility improvements. Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari and Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara also emphasized the government’s commitment to women’s welfare and development through various schemes and relief measures.
