Other cities like Bikaner, Churu, Jaisalmer, Pilani, and Phalodi have also recorded temperatures above 46 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Centre in Jaipur forecasts that intense heatwave conditions will persist across most parts of the state for the next two to three days.
Maximum temperatures in various regions are expected to range between 44 degrees Celsius and 46 degrees Celsius, with some areas like the Bikaner division, Kota division, and the Shekhawati region likely to witness temperatures between 46 degrees Celsius and 47 degrees Celsius. Border districts in western Rajasthan are anticipated to hover around the 48-degree mark on May 27 and May 28.
Among the hottest cities in Rajasthan on Wednesday, Sri Ganganagar recorded the highest temperature at 48.2 degrees Celsius, followed by Pilani at 47 degrees Celsius. Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Churu, and Phalodi also experienced high temperatures. Despite the prevailing heatwave, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) suggests a change in weather conditions from May 28 due to a new Western Disturbance, bringing the possibility of thunderstorms and rainfall in several parts of Rajasthan.
On May 28, light rainfall is expected in Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Ajmer divisions, with isolated showers in parts of the Bikaner division. The following days may see rainfall in various districts, offering some relief from the scorching temperatures. The Meteorological Department has issued alerts for thunderstorms, squalls, and strong winds in several districts, including Jaipur, Dausa, Sikar, and others. Residents can expect a decrease in daytime temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius from May 29 onwards.
