Consumers in Rajasthan are facing increased concerns as petrol and diesel prices have been raised for the third time in a few days due to fluctuations in global crude oil markets. In Jaipur, petrol now costs Rs 109.87 per litre, while diesel is priced at Rs 95.09 per litre after the recent hike.
The recent increases have seen petrol prices surge by Rs 5.12 per litre and diesel by Rs 4.84 per litre over the past nine days. This rise is expected to contribute to inflation and escalate transportation and household expenses, impacting those visiting fuel stations or markets.
Across various districts in Rajasthan, petrol prices have seen a notable uptick. Kota, Sikar, Udaipur, Ajmer, and Jodhpur have all experienced price hikes ranging from 93 paise to 94 paise per litre. The highest petrol prices were observed in Sawai Madhopur and Barmer, surpassing Rs 111 per litre.
The escalation in fuel rates is anticipated to have a widespread effect on transportation costs and household budgets, not only in Rajasthan but also in major cities nationwide. Market analysts attribute this inflationary trend to a mix of international tensions, increasing biodiesel demand, and the depreciation of the Indian rupee against the US dollar.
The surge in fuel prices is likely to impact household budgets and food markets, with mustard prices at the Lalsot Agricultural Produce Market rising significantly in the last ten days. Traders emphasize that diesel prices directly influence freight and logistics costs, potentially leading to a rise in prices of essential commodities in the coming days.
