In a significant development, the Rajasthan government has lifted the ban on transfers and postings for state government employees. This decision opens a 16-day window, starting from June 19 to July 5, for departments to conduct transfer activities across the state.
The Department of Administrative Reforms and Coordination issued an order permitting transfers, putting an end to months of uncertainty. This move is anticipated to lead to extensive administrative reshuffling within various government departments and agencies.
The relaxation in transfer rules applies to all state government departments, as well as corporations, commissions, boards, and autonomous bodies. During this period, departments have been granted the authority to propose transfers and complete the necessary approvals.
Thousands of employees who have been eagerly awaiting transfers will now benefit from this decision. However, the transfer window is limited to July 5, requiring officials and employees to adhere to the application and procedural deadlines.
Certain categories of employees are exempt from the current transfer process. Notably, personnel and doctors of the Medical and Health Department are excluded due to the upcoming monsoon season. Similarly, third-grade teachers in the Education Department are not part of the current exercise and will await further instructions.
Priority for transfers will be given to specific groups, including single women, widows, and women abandoned by their spouses. Additionally, employees with serious illnesses like cancer or major diseases will be prioritized upon submission of relevant medical certifications.
Differently-abled employees, long-serving staff, and those seeking postings with their spouses will also receive preference in the transfer process. Departments are expected to expedite the transfer procedures to ensure all proposals are finalized before the July 5 deadline.
