In a significant move, the Rajasthan Government, under Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, reshuffled 178 Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officers during the early hours of Saturday. The reshuffle involved transfers across various departments and field postings. Notable changes included assigning new roles to 12 officers previously under Awaiting Posting Orders (APO) status and canceling transfer orders for five officers.
The Rajasthan State Seed Corporation saw a change in leadership amidst discussions related to a bribery case involving an Independent Director. Gaurav Chaturvedi has been appointed as the new Managing Director, replacing Vinita Singh, who now serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Rajasthan Rural Livelihood Council. Singh had taken charge as MD of the Seed Corporation just over a month before this latest transfer.
One of the reshuffled officers, Pinky Meena, previously under APO status, has been posted as Assistant Director in the Administrative Reforms and Coordination Department after a long period without a regular posting. Dr. Vibhu Kaushik, a senior RAS officer, has been appointed as Special Assistant to Health Minister Gajendra Singh, transitioning from his previous role in the State Insurance and Provident Fund Department.
The reshuffle also involved the reassignment of Special Assistants to various ministers. Balwant Singh Ligri, previously attached to Health Minister Gajendra Singh, now serves as the Executive Director of the Rajasthan State Beverages Corporation. Additionally, several transfer orders from previous rounds were revoked, including those of Pushkar Mittal, Arshdeep Brar, and Mohammad Tahir.
Moreover, the government appointed new registrars in state universities as part of the administrative overhaul. Anurag Bhargava, Murlidhar Pratihar, Chandrabhan Singh Bhati, and Raju Lal Gurjar have been named as registrars in different universities across Rajasthan. This extensive reshuffle is seen as a strategic move to enhance governance, fill vacant positions, and streamline departmental operations in the state.
